Catchup

Wow its been awhile since i have made a post, lots has happened and it has been a really long week.
My Grans funeral went really well last wednesday, it was everything and more than see could have ever wanted! She was farewelled my bagpipes! She would have been soo excited for those :)

Well while we were in Christchurch we had time to go through her things and choose things we would like to keep, for memories or for using. We firstly went through her jewelry, which was my sisters and mines favorite thing to do, we got to choose a few things, I got some of the things i have always loved, like a green necklace and some pearl earrings. And while we were looking through her things we found a box full of Gloves! They are soo wicked, i got to keep a really long pair that has buttons underneath, they are so elegant! And while me and my sister found her rather large shell collection, we stumbled across some Furrs! real ones made into Shalls and scraves. They are all made in Christchurch, i got to have a grey one with is like a large bolero (without sleeves) and a brown scarf type one. They are cool, but also a bit yucky! Will save them for a fancy dress party or to pass down to my children.

It was a hard few days, but really happy too, it was so much fun going through her things and finding memories..Love you Gran :)

Here is a Picture of Gran and I: People were saying at the Funeral that we looked alike, im not totally sure, what do you think?

Well i am back at work now, and getting back into the swing of things, i kind of feel like i have a different look on life at the moment. Its so fragile and short, but at the same time its so long, we can reach so many people if we try, help change their lives, and make a difference. Gran did that, she was always helping. My wish this year is that i can help change someones life, i may never know if i actually do..but it would be amazing :)

Along with getting back into my life, i have also realized how very tired i am, i am so grateful its a long weekend, as i can get things done that i wouldn't have normally. I have done all the washing, tidied up the house, walked the cat, Hubby did the Vacuuming and now i am doing some baking. I am making Pumpernickel Bread! Its just rising at the moment, waiting for it to double in size. I will post pictured tomorrow of the process and final product :)

So in about 2 hours we are heading out to my Husbands parents to make Dumplings for dinner, its going to be exciting! I cant wait. Hubby is having some man time, playing Battlefield or something similar in front of me in the lounge, and i think i will check the bread and have a nap! Im tuckered out!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend (overseas people will still be in theirs) here its almost over :(.

xx

Farewell

My wonderful, loving, kind, fun and ever so cheeky Gran, passed away on Friday morning last week. She is now at peace with our father, and I am so grateful that she is no longer in pain, and is now finally at home :)

Love you so much Gran, I will never forget your love, your funny sayings, your whoop ass game moves and your overall happy as life can get attitude. I will try my best to have proper grammar, and never speak of myself first, and say like, um or any sort of those add-ons. I will be a proper Lady! :) xx

My new Summer Plants and first day back at work

Yesterday i went to the garden centre (well a few to be exact) with Mum to get some new plants for my pots! I love planting new plants, i used some Ageratum from my Mum's garden at their old house, and a CatNip from their aswell, also a few self sown rocket seedling :). The ones a bought where Pastel Status - which you can pick and dry :), and pink and white Lobelia, to fill in all the gaps :)

So i think it will turn out really lovely once they get going, the next thing i need to sort out is my hanging basket with Nasturtium in it, it's looking very sad, i will need to take it out and pop in something to stop all the water from coming out, as well as some fertilizer to make it pick up again.

Here are some pictures of them as well as some of my tomatoes and Harvey;

Now that im back at work i find things that i wanted to do when i was on holiday! haha..it always happens..

So guess what tomorrow is..mine and Hubbies 3rd year Wedding Anniversary!! Yay, i think we might go to the movies or something, anything cheap! :P I'm so thankfull to be married to him for Three years, love you sweetheart :)

Chocolate Almond Torte

We are going to a friends for dinner tonight, and they are on a special diet that at the moment they are not having any carbs, like flour and yeast etc. So it was my turn to bring dessert, so i decided to make a flourless Almond torte, with no rising agents, i wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but it was interesting, quite a few steps and lots of bowls later, this is what i turned out with :)

The final product :)

Well i better get changed and get hubby off the computer (he's been playing the Old republic since it came out lol!) and head out the door! :P

Homemade Pita Bread

Well since i am on Holiday at the moment (for another 9 days) i have obviously had a lot of time to do things, it is fun watching TV all day and sleeping in till 11am, but somedays i feel like i want to do more :) So i decided to make something i never have before, i have made bread before, mainly focaccia and plain loves..but yeasterday i was inspired (mainly from watching Rachel Ray and Dr Oz, and i didnt want to eat unhealthy, but i was inspired to cook! (which doesn't happen often)

So thats why i decided to make Pita Bread, it was certainly different to making normal bread, it takes longer and there is a lot of pounding (so you get the air out). So here are some of my photos from the process of making it, it turned out really yummy, and we had them with Caesar Salad last night..Mmm
And this morning i popped one in the toaster and had it with a Coffee...ahh breakfast heaven!

Quick process; Recipe, Ingredients (minus flour), Kneading dough and finished!

Pita Bread all done!

My breakfast!! Mmmm

Well I'm not up to much today, as usual, i might if I'm feeling up to it, bake something and take it to my Parents in law (they are getting new carpet today) And maybe, just maybe, use my pocket money to go shopping and get a new work outfit!! hmmm..decisions decisions, better get dressed first! (thats shocking considering its 12pm already! LOL)

Have a good day y'all.
